Waterfall Hike

Starting from the car park near the Old Government House on Queens Jubilee Drive, Belair National Park, this walk takes you on a circuit past the Lower and Upper Waterfalls via the Waterfall Hike. The Waterfall Hike is one of Belair's more challenging walks, showcasing the park's beautiful views, waterfalls and rock escarpments. The trail leads through the Echo Tunnel to a viewing platform at the Lower Waterfall, then runs along the escarpment above the Upper Waterfall. Plenty of wildlife can be seen along the walk, including kangaroos, koalas, and emus, and in spring, there's an abundance of blooming orchids and wildflowers. Both waterfalls are seasonal and best viewed after heavy rainfall. This loop consists mostly of dedicated walking trails, with some short steep hills, and can be done in either direction. Caution is advised along the cliff edges near the Upper Waterfall, which are unfenced and can be slippery. Dogs are allowed, but must be kept on a leash. Let us begin by acknowledging the Traditional Custodians of the land on which we travel today, and pay our respects to their Elders past and present.

Getting started
From the car park near the Old Government House on Queens Jubilee Drive, Belair National Park, head along the trail next to Echo Track, opposite the Old Government House. After passing a seating area with a map of the park, you'll reach another car park with a 'Waterfall Hike' trail marker. Head along the trail, following the 'Waterfall Hike' trail markers, and continue along the Waterfall Hike (clockwise).....

	After another 30 m continue straight. After another 55 m pass the toilet (45 m on your left).
	Turn right, to head along Lorikeet Looop.
	After another 450 m turn right, to head along Yurrebilla Trail. After another 15 m cross the bridge (about 9 m long) After another 8 m turn right, to head along Yurrebilla Trail. After another 105 m pass the car park (20 m on your left). After another 20 m pass the water tap (50 m on your left).
	Turn right, to head along Yurrebilla Trail. After another 110 m continue straight, to head along Yurrebilla Trail. After another 190 m cross the bridge (about 10 m long) After another 105 m (at the intersection of Yurrebilla Trail & Echo Track) continue straight, to head along Yurrebilla Trail. After another 50 m continue straight, to head along Yurrebilla Trail. After another 115 m cross the bridge (about 8 m long) After another 10 m head through the tunnel (about 80 m long) After another 150 m cross the bridge (about 8 m long) After another 110 m head up the steps (about 45 m long) After another 150 m continue straight, to head along Yurrebilla Trail. After another 240 m pass the "Lower Waterfall" (25 m on your left).
	The starting point of an optional sidetrip. This little side trip takes you to a viewpoint where you can get a different view of the Lower Waterfall. To start this optional side trip turn left here. On returning from this side trip turn left when you get back to this intersection. Details below. After another 6 m continue straight, to head along Yurrebilla Trail.
	After another 185 m (at the intersection of Workanda Track & Yurrebilla Trail) turn right, to head along Workanda Track (a vehicle track).
	After another 85 m (at the intersection of Waterfall Hike & Workanda Track) turn left, to head along Waterfall Hike (a walking track).
	After another 205 m veer left, to head along Waterfall Hike. After another 235 m continue straight, to head along Waterfall Hike.
	After another 670 m pass the "Upper Waterfall" (10 m on your left). After another 5 m come to the "Upper Waterfall" (15 m on your left). Continue straight.
	After another 20 m turn left, to head along Yulti Wirra Track.
	After another 125 m turn right. After another 380 m continue straight, to head along Queens Jubilee Drive.
	After another 170 m (at the intersection of Waterfall Hike & Queens Jubilee Drive) veer left, to head along Waterfall Hike (a walking track).
	After another 510 m veer right, to head along Waterfall Hike. After another 200 m (at the intersection of Queens Jubilee Drive & Waterfall Hike) continue straight, to head along Queens Jubilee Drive (a vehicle track). After another 15 m (at the intersection of Queens Jubilee Drive & Tilti Track) continue straight, to head along Queens Jubilee Drive.
	After another 15 m (at the intersection of Waterfall Hike & Queens Jubilee Drive) continue straight, to head along Waterfall Hike (a walking track). Keep right. After another 225 m (at the intersection of Waterfall Hike & Wypanda Track) continue straight, to head along Waterfall Hike.
	After another 480 m (at the intersection of Queens Jubilee Drive & Waterfall Hike) turn right, to head along Queens Jubilee Drive (a vehicle track). After another 20 m continue straight, to head along Queens Jubilee Drive.
	After another 280 m (at the intersection of Queens Jubilee Drive & Wypanda Track) veer left, to head along Queens Jubilee Drive. After another 390 m head through/around the gate.
	Continue another 125 m to find at the intersection of Queens Jubilee Drive & Lorikeet Loop at the end.

This little side trip takes you to a viewpoint where you can get a different view of the Lower Waterfall.
