Wildflower Wander

Starting from the Gate 3 car park on Perseverance Road, Tea Tree Gully, this walk explores Anstey Hill Recreation Park via the Wildflower Wander. The Wildflower Wander is a steep hike to the top of Anstey Hill, offering rewarding views across the Adelaide Plains towards the city. A variety of birdlife nests in the quiet gullies along the way, and in spring, there's an abundance of wildflowers in bloom, including native orchids. This hike consists mainly of narrow walking trails, with some steep sections that can be slippery in places due to loose gravel. About halfway up the hill, the trail crosses a mountain bike track, so walkers should exercise caution at this intersection. This is a return walk, but it can be completed as a loop by following the Wildflower Walk back to the car park. The Wildflower Wander is reserved for walkers only, bikes are not permitted. Dogs are allowed, but must be kept on a leash. Let us begin by acknowledging the Traditional Custodians of the land on which we travel today, and pay our respects to their Elders past and present.

Getting started
From the Gate 3 car park on Perseverance Road, Tea Tree Gully, head through the gate and follow the wide dirt trail ahead, passing a large 'Anstey Hill Recreation Park' sign and a 'Welcome to Anstey Hill' informative sign. After about 185 metres, you'll reach a junction with the Wildflower Walk, which heads uphill to the left. Follow the Wildflower Walk for a few metres until you reach a narrow walking trail branching off to the left, marked with a 'Wildflower Wander' signpost. From there, head left along the narrow walking trail, following the 'Wildflower Wander' trail markers, and continue the Wildflower Wander.....

After another 45 m (at the intersection of Boundary Walk & Boundary Singletrack Connector) continue straight, to head along Boundary Walk. After another 8 m (at the intersection of Boundary Walk & Wildflower Downhill) continue straight, to head along Boundary Walk.
	After another 75 m (at the intersection of Wildflower Walk & Boundary Walk) turn left, to head along Wildflower Walk. After another 6 m (at the intersection of Wildflower Wander & Wildflower Walk) continue straight, to head along Wildflower Wander (a walking track).
	After another 210 m continue straight, to head along Wildflower Wander.
	After another 480 m (at the intersection of Wildflower Wander & Wildflower Downhill) continue straight, to head along Wildflower Wander.
	The starting point of an optional sidetrip. This optional side trip takes you to Wildflower Lookout. To start this optional side trip veer left here. On returning from this side trip veer right when you get back to this intersection. Details below. (at the intersection of Wildflower Walk & Wildflower Wander) Continue another 640 m to find the end. Then turn around here and retrace the main route for 1.5 km to get back to the start.

This optional side trip takes you to Wildflower Lookout.
