Horseshoe (Burgess) Falls Track

Starting from the Burgess Falls Walking Track in Hazelbrook, the Horseshoe (Burgess) Falls Track is a return walk that takes you through a natural landscape. This walk is pet friendly and perfect for taking your furry friends with you (adult). You will come across a number of waterfalls, including Horseshoe Falls (and the cave behind), Oakland Falls, Burgess Falls, Fairy Falls, Glow Worm Nook Falls, and Lena Falls. It is best to wear joggers or hiking boots as the track can be slippery and muddy after rain. Large fallen-down trees make the atmosphere stronger but also block some of the water flow to Burgess Falls, meaning you will need to climb over them in some sections of the track. For the best experience, it is recommended to take this walk after heavy rainfall. Additionally, autumn is a great season to visit as there is a wider variety of fungi to observe. After following the track for 500m, you will emerge in close proximity to various shops and amenities, including the Hazelbrook Bowling Club, while restrooms can be found on a street nearby, along with facilities for having a nice meal or a drink. Let us begin by acknowledging the Traditional Custodians of the land on which we travel today, and pay our respects to their Elders past and present.

Getting started
From Oaklands Road (75 metres northwest of the intersection with Origma Avenue), head towards the green "Horseshoe Falls Reserve" sign. Head down the steps next to the said sign and follow the narrow dirt track into the woods to continue along Horseshoe (Burgess) Falls Track.....

	From the Burgess Falls Walking Track Start heading along Burgess Falls Walking Track (a walking track). After 15 m pass the car park (30 m on your left). After another 130 m pass the picnic table (5 m on your left).
	After another 25 m (from the Burgess Falls Walking Track) continue straight, to head along Burgess Falls Walking Track. Then pass the "Alston Park" (8 m on your right). After another 15 m pass the picnic table (40 m on your right).
	The starting point of an optional sidetrip. An optional side trip taking you to Fairy Falls. To start this optional side trip veer left here. On returning from this side trip turn left when you get back to this intersection. Details below. After another 135 m (from the Burgess Falls Walking Track) veer right, to head along Burgess Falls Walking Track.
	After another 180 m (from the Burgess Falls Walking Track) continue straight, to head along Burgess Falls Walking Track.
	The starting point of an optional sidetrip. This little side trip takes you to Horseshoe Falls. To start this optional side trip turn left here. On returning from this side trip turn sharp right when you get back to this intersection. Details below. The starting point of an optional sidetrip. An optional side trip taking you to Glow Worm Nook Falls (Lower, Middle & Top). To start this optional side trip continue straight here. On returning from this side trip turn around when you get back to this intersection. Details below. After another 55 m (from the Burgess Falls Walking Track) turn right, to head along Burgess Falls Walking Track. After another 85 m (from the Burgess Falls Walking Track) continue straight, to head along Burgess Falls Walking Track. After another 50 m (at the intersection of Burgess Falls Walking Track & Amphitheatre Walking Track) continue straight, to head along Burgess Falls Walking Track.
	The starting point of an optional sidetrip. An optional side trip taking you to Lena Falls. To start this optional side trip turn left here. On returning from this side trip turn left when you get back to this intersection. Details below. After another 140 m (from the Burgess Falls Walking Track) veer right, to head along Burgess Falls Walking Track.
	The starting point of an optional sidetrip. An optional side trip taking you to Oakland Falls. To start this optional side trip veer left here. On returning from this side trip turn sharp left when you get back to this intersection. Details below. After another 145 m (from the Burgess Falls Walking Track) continue straight, to head along Burgess Falls Walking Track.
	After another 240 m (from the Burgess Falls Walking Track) turn sharp left.
	After another 70 m turn right. After another 15 m come to "Burgess Falls". Turn around here and retrace the main route for 1.3 km to get back to the start.

An optional side trip taking you to Fairy Falls.

	After another 2 m come to the end. Turn around and retrace your steps back the 50 m to the main route.

	The end. Turn around and retrace your steps back the 130 m to the main route.
