Twiggy’s Landing and Shearwater Lookout

Starting from Woody Island Visitors Centre, this walk takes you to Sheerwater Lookout and back. Take a free guided walk that offers views of the historical Twiggy's Landing and learn more about its background. It is also possible to observe flesh-footed shearwaters that go back and forth to their nesting sites during summer from the lookout. The island is also famous for its native tall trees, which provide a rare sighting within this archipelago. There are certain sections that can be steep, but the track is formed. Let us begin by acknowledging the Traditional Custodians of the land on which we travel today, and pay our respects to their Elders past and present.

Getting started
From the jetty on Woody Island, head toıwards the boardwalk. Head up the boardwalk and pass by the visitor centre to your left. Continue straight towards the sheltered signpost on the left side of the track. Pass by the said signpost and keep moving in the same direction as you head up the occasional wooden step along the way. Shortly after, turn left at the 3-way intersection marked by a directional signpost (following the Twiggy's Landing signage) to continue along the Twiggy’s Landing and Shearwater Lookout Track.....

	After another 105 m turn right. After another 25 m continue straight. Then pass the toilet (25 m on your left). After another 25 m pass the toilet (8 m on your left).

	Continue another 85 m to find the end. Then turn around here and retrace the main route for 540 m to get back to the start.
