I love these kind of photos
Gets the mind kicked into gear.
Very likely similar area to your first photo - as the rock and vegetation suits that area.
The basin in the foreground has 1 lake in it - but the depressions are consistent with 3 lakes.
Using The List to get up the 1:25,000 map, and starting from the North Star - you can see this basin, but the angle across the cliffs is wrong.
But there is an unnamed mountain south from the North Star across the Pokana River.
At its peak it shows at 1091m, but this photo is probably taken near a rock outcrop a bit down the side looking almost due west across the headwaters of the Pokana River.
The background is harder to read - particularly the pointy peak that is ghostlike a bit right of centre, that some are saying is Frenchman''s Cap
Following the direction in The List intersects with Princes Peak at 1028m - or possibly Mt Humbolt which is higher.
[Have now visited Dave Nobles Prince of Wales traverse photos and Mt Humbolt seems to be a possibility.
{I cannot see how you could get this view from the Denisons, though some of the peaks in the middle look like the Spires. But if they are, what happened to Conical Mountain?}
But for now - that is my suggestion - unnamed peak south of North Star looking across the headwaters of the Pokana River. Probably at a waterfall on the prominent cliff face across the valley.
