If I am not mistaken, Quamby Bluff is hiding behind the large rock and the trig point.

Sorry. I went to bed after working out where it was - rain in Cardiff put an end to cricket for the night. Didn't seem fair to put up a shot and then disappear for another 18 hours or so.

That was embarrassing, anyway, 'cause I have an identical set of shots from my first trip up the Overland. Should have gotten in straight away, but - believe it or not - I didn't see the bridge at first. *cringe*

I'm almost positive that's the trig marker on Roland. It was a wee bit foggy when I hit the summit so I don't have a shot of the views to match that one, but I do have one that shows the marker, and the pink rocks and lines of concrete look identical.

ps: Nice kilt.

Aha, been there and recognise it :). Summit of Hartz Peak looking across at Mt Snowy, with Emily Tarn below. I was a bit disappointed when we went up there; had wanted to walk across to Snowy but the clag rolled in so we descended.

Ahhh, I always get Hartz the other way around - it starts all damp and cloudy but then clears back. Ten minutes later you could see Precipitous and Federation.

OK, go for it, laddy.

norts- I haven't been to Lake Oenone, but I hope there is not such an obvious track along its edge :)

I reckon this is from the Face Track just before/after the branch off to Lake Wilks.
That rock face is what I led my young family down in a jet stream of horizontal rain.

I see it now.
Not realy that close when I look again. The degraded area looks a bit like the camping area around Oenone.

Lake Wilks. I love that track.

(edit: Ooooops, already done. That's what comes of trying to follow this and the cricket at the same time. Blame the Poms for losing wickets so regularly. :D )

Your'e almost there Scavenger. Lake Wilks is the feature I'm looking at, but what track am I standing on? (hope I'm not being too pedantic)

I missed the last few posts typing the previous reply  . It is from the Face Track although I can't recall if it was before or after the branch.
Eggs has it :) .

I'm fairly certain it's after the branch. I don't think you can see that much of the lake and ridge from the main track.

The cricket must be exciting - 'carn the Aussies

The before/after was depending on which way you were going. It will be on the east of the junction towards Hanson side.

I should keep it easy - this should be, but ??
It is also from a slide (hence lesser quality) from 23 years ago

The most famous 'walker's obstacle' is, of course, The Notch . . . in which case my memory is playing tricks 'cause I've never seen it from that angle . . .
