Definitely The Spires (Flame Peak on left I think?); so maybe from on the way to / from Innes High Rocky? (looks like pleasant walking, looking forward to this trip )
that is correct! The flame is a pretty big clue. Yeah it's not too bad heading out to Innes High Rocky, mostly buttongrass. No pad until you get to the peak.
Yeah, sorry eggs I usually put up pics from summits or of mountains. I thought I'd go with something a little harder this time as there have been some similarly obscure entries. This lake has appeared at least once in the game before...
Oh well - better start the ball rolling [I don't mind the harder / less detailed ones - after all, the game was setup to ask "how well do you know Tas?" So most should require some first hand info]
Very good guess eggs!!! Chalice Lake it is. This is taken from the track (pad) just as it reaches the lake, a truly beautiful area & a must do side trip for those doing any walking in the area. There is a track that comes up on the southern side of Grail Falls (from Chapter Lake) & follows the outlet stream to the lake. From here pads lead up to the western rim where you can access the many peaks (Cathedral Mtn, Twin Spires etc.).
You're joking... I was going to start with the walls area, but the Pines which made me think of the WOJ area, reminded me that there are some behind Cathedral as well.
I have some photos down onto Chalice - and I knew the lie of the land would not offer any dramatic backdrop but would be capable of some rocky outcrops. But I had not expected to get it! Someone else will need to post the next one.
I was up there last Sat so was fresh in my mind. I think the mountains from left to right are: Mt Victoria, Mt Albert, Mt Young (not an Abel) Mt Saddleback, Ben Nevis, East and West Tower near Matthina and Ben Lomond Plateau. Last Sat there was still a tiny bit of snow to be seen on Ben Lomond.
A hardy group of adventurers climbed West Tower a few weekends ago (along with Byatts Razorback, Ragged Jack, Mt's Elephant and St Patricks Head) unfortunately no feral goats were sighted......
Ok, don't deserve it as I've climbed nearly all those mountains (still to do Scott) & should have been able to work it out. Here's a new one anyway to keep it rolling along...
