Getting started
From Lenah Valley Road (1.83 km southwest of the intersection with Ancanthe Avenue), head towards the white metal bollard near a "Warning" sign. Pass through the bollard and head along the path downhill. Cross New Town Rivulet and make your way to the gate straight ahead. Head around/over the gate and stay on the track. About 170 metres later, turn right at the 3-way intersection to continue along Lenah Valley and Pinnacle Circuit (clockwise).....

	At the intersection of Lenah Valley Fire Trail & Lenah Valley Road Start heading along Lenah Valley Fire Trail (a vehicle track). There is a car park (about 70 m back from the start). Find the bollard at the start. Then cross the ford. After another 25 m head through/around the gate.
	After another 170 m (at the intersection of Lenah Valley Fire Trail & Main Fire Trail) turn right, to head along Lenah Valley Fire Trail. After another 335 m (at the intersection of Old Hobartians Track & Lenah Valley Fire Trail) continue straight, to head along Old Hobartians Track (a walking track).
	After another 620 m (at the intersection of Lenah Valley Track & Old Hobartians Track) turn left, to head along Lenah Valley Track.
	After another 350 m (at the intersection of Lenah Valley Track & Lenah Valley Fire Trail) continue straight, to head along Lenah Valley Track.
	After another 265 m continue straight, to head along Lenah Valley Track.
	After another 160 m pass the "New Town Falls" (8 m on your left). After another 6 m cross the ford. After another 880 m (at the intersection of Old Farm Fire Trail & Lenah Valley Track) continue straight, to head along Old Farm Fire Trail (a vehicle track).
	After another 500 m (at the intersection of Old Farm Fire Trail & Breakneck Track) turn right, to head along Old Farm Fire Trail.
	After another 315 m (at the intersection of Lenah Valley Track & North-South Track) veer right, to head along Lenah Valley Track (a walking track). After another 10 m pass the "Junction Cabin" (8 m on your right).
	The starting point of an alternate route. An alternate route visiting the Lone Cabin. To take the alternate route continue straight here. Details below. After another 255 m (at the intersection of Lenah Valley Track & Lone Cabin Track) continue straight, to head along Lenah Valley Track. After another 190 m pass the "Lone Cabin" (50 m on your left). After another 9 m (at the intersection of Lenah Valley Track & Lone Cabin Track) continue straight, to head along Lenah Valley Track.
	After another 850 m (at the intersection of Lenah Valley Track & Shoobridge Track) continue straight, to head along Lenah Valley Track. After another 670 m pass the "Rock Cabin" (on your right). After another 205 m (at the intersection of Lenah Valley Track & Lower Sawmill Track) continue straight, to head along Lenah Valley Track. After another 9 m (at the intersection of Lenah Valley Track & Lower Sawmill Track) continue straight, to head along Lenah Valley Track.
	The starting point of an optional sidetrip. This little side trip takes you to Sphinx Rock and back. To start this optional side trip veer left here. On returning from this side trip veer left when you get back to this intersection. Details below. After another 20 m turn right, to head along Lenah Valley Track.
	After another 1.3 km (at the intersection of Lenah Valley Track & Fingerpost Track) continue straight, to head along Lenah Valley Track. After another 55 m pass the toilet (on your left). This toilet is wheelchair accessible. This toilet is male, female and equipped with a hand-washing basin. After another 8 m pass a seat (9 m on your left)., has a backrest. Then pass the sign (on your right). After another 20 m pass the shelter (about 10 m ahead). Then pass the BBQ (about 15 m ahead). Then pass the "Lost Freight Cafe" (about 15 m ahead). Then pass the picnic table (25 m on your left). Then pass the water tap (15 m on your left). Then pass the picnic table (25 m on your left).
	Turn right, to head along Pinnacle Road. After another 20 m pass the BBQ (15 m on your left). Then pass the shelter (20 m on your left). After another 40 m turn right, to head along Radfords Track.
	After another 115 m veer right. After another 30 m turn left, to head along Pinnacle Feeder Track.
	After another 120 m (at the intersection of Pinnacle Track & Grays Fire Trail) veer right, to head along Pinnacle Track.
	After another 1.4 km (at the intersection of Zig Zag Track & Pinnacle Track) continue straight, to head along Zig Zag Track.
	After another 1.2 km (at the intersection of Zig Zag Track & South Wellington Track) continue straight, to head along Zig Zag Track.
	After another 155 m (at the intersection of Pinnacle Road & Zig Zag Track) turn left, to head along Pinnacle Road (a road).
	After another 85 m come to the "South West Viewing Platform" (60 m on your left). Continue straight, to head along Pinnacle Road. After another 45 m continue straight, to head along Pinnacle Road. After another 35 m continue straight, to head along Pinnacle Road. After another 20 m pass the "kunanyi / Mount Wellington" (50 m on your right). 	After another 25 m turn left, to head along Pinnacle Road.
	The starting point of an optional sidetrip. This optional side trip takes you to an observation shelter and 2 more viewpoints. To start this optional side trip turn right here. On returning from this side trip turn right when you get back to this intersection. Details below. After another 10 m continue straight, to head along Pinnacle Road. After another 65 m pass the toilet (25 m on your left).
	After another 670 m (at the intersection of Panorama Track & Pinnacle Road) veer right, to head along Panorama Track (a walking track).
	After another 810 m (at the intersection of Pinnacle Road & Panorama Track) turn right, to head along Pinnacle Road (a road). After another 920 m head through/around the gate.
	At the intersection of Pinnacle Road & Organ Pipes Track continue straight, to head along Pinnacle Road. After another 25 m pass the "The Chalet" (10 m on your right). After another 15 m pass the BBQ (15 m on your right).
	After another 30 m (at the intersection of Hunters Track & Pinnacle Road) turn left, to head along Hunters Track (a walking track). After another 345 m (at the intersection of Old Hobartians Track & Hunters Track) continue straight, to head along Old Hobartians Track.
	After another 470 m (at the intersection of Old Hobartians Track & Lost World Track) turn right, to head along Old Hobartians Track.
	After another 1.8 km (at the intersection of Old Hobartians Track & North South Track) veer right, to head along Old Hobartians Track.
	After another 195 m (at the intersection of Old Hobartians Track & Lenah Valley Track) veer left, to head along Old Hobartians Track.
	After another 620 m (at the intersection of Lenah Valley Fire Trail & Old Hobartians Track) continue straight, to head along Lenah Valley Fire Trail (a vehicle track).
	After another 335 m (at the intersection of Lenah Valley Fire Trail & Main Fire Trail) turn left, to head along Lenah Valley Fire Trail. After another 200 m (at the intersection of Lenah Valley Fire Trail & New Town Rivulet) continue straight, to head along Lenah Valley Fire Trail.
	Continue another 30 m to find at the intersection of Lenah Valley Road & Lenah Valley Fire Trail at the end.

An alternate route visiting the Lone Cabin.

	At the intersection of Lone Cabin Track & Lenah Valley Track Start heading along Lone Cabin Track (a walking track). After 125 m pass the "Lone Cabin" (on your left).
	Continue another 110 m to find at the intersection of Lenah Valley Track & Lone Cabin Track at the end. At the end of this alternate route, rejoin the main route.

This little side trip takes you to Sphinx Rock and back.

	Continue another 0 m to find Sphinx Rock at the end. Turn around and retrace your steps back the 55 m to the main route.

This optional side trip takes you to an observation shelter and 2 more viewpoints.

	Start. After 65 m come to the "kunanyi / Mount Wellington Pinnacle Observation Shelter" (on your right). After another 35 m come to the viewpoint (about 10 m ahead).
	Turn sharp left. After another 65 m come to a viewpoint. The end. Turn around and retrace your steps back the 140 m to the main route.
